Regarding the recent negative depiction of Muhammad in the danish press, let me say that such depictions are not new in any way, and that on the contrary this is simply a global-information age reincarnation of the same devils and lords of the eon-old dispute between the rival gods of the west and near east.  Take a look at this web-site:

It gives a snapshot of the long pictorial history of Muhammad's imaginal existence.  As Edward Said's Orientalism makes almost redundently clear, Christians have been taking pot-shots at Mohhamed for many centuries.  Let us note, therefore, not the content but the MAGNITUDE of the current row.  Pervasive Global Polarization.  Surely the end times are near.  But then again, perhaps it depends upon which Book we look to for the answer.
